Broomfield Photo Club History

The Broomfield Photography Club meets at 6:30 PM. the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Broomfield Community Center, 280 Lamar St Broomfield, Colorado.

Broomfield Photo club is a group of non-professional photographers that enjoy taking pictures for fun. We share our photos and learn from our lecturers and co-members. We are open to anyone who would like to learn and share photos. Photographers of all skill levels are welcome to attend. The club’s goal is to improve photographers’ skills through display and critique of individuals’ work. Meetings include a presentation of various types of photography. Meetings are held in the back room in the senior center section of the community center. There are no dues as such, however; the Broomfield Community Center does require us to collect $1.00 per person attending each meeting.

Speakers
Each monthly meeting has a professional photographer or a club member presenter. The presenter will present a slide show and talk about her/his photos and career. Speakers generally critique members photos after their presentation.

Subjects
We have assigned subjects each month and anyone attending is encouraged to submit two photos from the assigned category, plus they may submit two additional photos for our open category to share with the group and be critiqued. Digital images should be emailed to ken@noble-one.com no later than the Saturday prior to the meeting or rotating monthly you can bring prints or slides directly to the meeting (minimum size prints 8x10).

Submitting digital photos
Digital photos are received and placed into a digital show presentation for the meeting. The show needs to be created prior to the meeting so please follow the following instructions so our volunteers can do their work.

Submissions for digital photos are limited to two assigned category photos and two open. Prints submitted remain limited to 2 per category. They should be mounted on mat board. Also, they should not be framed. Framed photos are sometimes difficult to handle and have an increased possibility of damage.

Digital images are to be submitted with the following naming convention.
